“We now have open tryouts set, and that means the preseason is not too far away," Sky Blue FC head coach Jim Gabarra said in a press release. "This is the point where teams start looking at players a little more closely to truly refine their rosters. We want to put together a top roster here at Sky Blue FC, and this is an exciting time of year. As with any sport, the approach of the preseason means anything is possible."
The cost of the open tryouts is $100 per participant, and that one-time fee will guarantee both days of the trials.

Anyone interested in taking part must register online prior to Tuesday, Feb. 21 and all players must be at least 18 years old. In addition to signing a liability waiver, proof of medical insurance will need to be shown at pre-tryout registration, which will get underway at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 23.
All participants should bring both indoor and outdoor gear, and a T-shirt will be provided for each player.
"Open tryouts give us a great opportunity to see up-and-coming talent looking to grace WPS," assistant coach Emma Hayes stated. "We expect at least a couple of players to be invited into preseason camp, so it's a wonderful opportunity for the players."
On Feb. 23, two sessions will be conducted, with the first running from 10 a.m. to noon and the second from 1 to 3 p.m. The following day, the two sessions will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. These times are subject to change, but participants will be notified if that occurs.
