St. Patrick's Day Parade Set For Sunday in Middlesex County

The American Irish Association of Woodbridge is the sponsor of the event, which is the largest of its kind in Central New Jersey.

The 42nd Annual Woodbridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration will be held Sunday.

The American Irish Association of Woodbridge is the sponsor of the event, which is the largest of its kind in Central New Jersey, according to a township news release.

“The annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration allows us the opportunity to come together as a community to honor and recognize the heritage, culture and contributions of our Irish forefathers who participated in the early settlement and later development of Woodbridge Township,” Mayor John E. McCormac said in a prepared statement.

The day begins at 9 a.m. at Town Hall, with readings of proclamations and the symbolic raising of the Irish flag.

The parade begins at 1:30 p.m. at Woodbridge High School, and will continue to Amboy Avenue (Route 35) and Main Street, ending at Town Hall.

Robert Patten is the grand marshal; Dee Hahn is the Irish Woman of the Year; Don Brown is the Irish Man of the Year; Rebecca Gardner is Miss American Irish; and Kylie Cahill is the Irish Lady in Waiting, the news release said.
