Stun Gun Robbery at East Brunswick Walmart: Arrests Made

An Audi-driving East Brunswick couple has been arrested for robbing a woman at the East Brunswick Walmart with a stun gun, police said.

East Brunswick, NJ - An Audi-driving East Brunswick couple has been arrested for robbing a woman at the East Brunswick Walmart with a stun gun, police announced Wednesday.

The robbery occurred April 16 in the Walmart parking lot off Rt. 18. The victim, a woman, told police she was loading groceries into her car when she was robbed of $80 in cash by a female suspect armed with a dark-colored stun gun that resembled a flashlight.

Two suspects were actually involved and they drove off in a late 1990s Audi, Detective Crispin Farrace later learned.

Later, on April 27, South River police stopped a black Audi for a motor vehicle violation and a subsequent search of the car revealed a dark green flashlight stun gun. The word "Police" was etched into the side. The two suspects were identified as Naomi Gerenza, 50, and Thomas Nizolek, 30, both of East Brunswick. 

The two were arrested on May 26 at their residence in the township, and were both charged with robbery and conspiracy.
