Traffic Delays Expected This Weekend In East Brunswick

The ongoing project near the border of East Brunswick and New Brunswick is expected to cause significant traffic delays in the area, and alternate routes are recommended, an alert from East Brunswick police said.

The work is expected to begin at 8 p.m. Friday and continue until 5 a.m. Monday.

“The Route 18 bridge over Route 1 bridge approaches will be demolished and poured back into place over weekends,” the alert said.

Two lanes of traffic will be open on Route 18 north and south.

The ramp to Route 1 south from Route 18 north will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

The ramp to Route 18 south from Route 1 south will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Detours will be in place.
