Truck Falls Onto Another In Rt. 18 Industrial Accident Wednesday
Breaking: The 2:20 a.m. accident affected traffic on Rt. 18 for hours Wednesday morning, as diesel and hydraulic fluid spilled on the road.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A sandblasting construction truck toppled over onto another while they were making repairs to the George Street overpass in the middle of the night along Rt. 18.
The accident happened at approximately 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, New Brunswick police said. A stationary construction truck, in the process of sandblasting the George Street overpass, toppled over and fell onto another construction truck, which was also sandblasting. Nobody was injured in the accident.
However, Rt. 18 southbound was closed for hours Wednesday, especially in the area of George Street and Bishop Place, as crews worked to clean up the resulting hydraulic fluid and diesel fuel that spilled all over the roadway. The clean-up extended into the Wednesday morning commuter rush.

It appears one of the first truck's hydraulic outriggers failed, causing it to overturn, police said. Both construction vehicles belong to Allied Painting, based in Cherry Hill. Allied Painting was hired by the state DOT to do the work on the George St. overpass.
