Two Adults, Minor Arrested For Drugs, Illegal Weapons In East Brunswick

The two adults are being held on bail; the minor was released to his mother.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ-- Three Plainfield men were arrested for drugs and illegal weapons, East Brunswick Police said.

James George, 19, and Alfonso Lyles, 26, and an unnamed juvenile were pulled over for a routine traffic stop on Route 18, late Wednesday night. After smelling marijuana, an East Brunswick police officer searched the car, finding less than 50 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded .22 caliber Beretta semi-automatic handgun.

All three men were charged. The adults were taken to Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center; George is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail, Lyles is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
