A 60-year-old man was killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike, police said.

Julius Bassie, 60, of Lakewood was killed when his box truck struck the back end of a tractor-trailer at milepost 71.4 in Cranbury, police said.

Bassie was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:15 a.m.

The center and right truck lanes of the Turnpike were closed for about four hours.

The crash is under investigation.
