Victims ID'd, Driver Intoxicated In Old Bridge Double Fatal: MCPO
The mother of one victim has asked for help, and a NJ man who was driving while intoxicated was arrested this weekend, prosecutors say.
A New Jersey man who was driving while intoxicated has been arrested and charged with causing the death of two women and injuring another driver this weekend, according to prosecutors. The mother of one of the fatal victims, who was working hard to pay off her education, has asked for help.
Tristan R. Rodriguez, 23, of Old Bridge has been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide in the second degree and one count of assault by auto in the fourth degree, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
Two passengers, including Krystal C. Diaz, 29, of Old Bridge, a passenger in Rodriguez’s car, and a 17-year-old female passenger in the other vehicle were both pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries they suffered from the crash, according to the MCPO.

Diaz's mother has asked for help through GoFundMe, saying her daughter was only two minutes from where she lives and on her way home when the crash occurred.
"She was 29 years of age (and) was working hard at the Seville Diner in the hopes to earn money to pay off student loans to continue her education," Sauthy Felicies of Old Bridge wrote. "She was beautiful, hard-working, intelligent with so much potential."

Felicies said the family is asking for help "to lay to rest our beloved Krystal and help for her student loans which unfortunately were private loans which where obtained by her grandfather."
A 20-year old male from Old Bridge, who was driving the other vehicle, was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. Rodriguez was also taken to the hospital for his injuries.
The crash is being investigated by Police Officer Steven Connolly of the Old Bridge Police Department and Detective Jonathan Berman of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, according to the MCPO.
The investigation began after police were dispatched to the scene of the crash on Englishtown Road near the JCP&L building in Old Bridge, at 3:50 am. on Saturday, according to the MCPO.
A preliminary investigation determined that Rodriguez was intoxicated while driving an Acura on Englishtown Road when he crashed into the rear of a pickup truck, the MCPO says.
