EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The East Brunswick campus of the Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools (MCVTS) went into lockdown on Wednesday morning following a "concern brought to the attention" of school authorities by a student, police said.

East Brunswick police responded and placed the school on lockdown “out of an abundance of caution,” spokesperson Lt. Jason Fama said.

A thorough investigation was conducted, and no weapons were found, police said. Authorities did not find any threat to the safety of the student and faculty.

According to the police, no direct threat was made against the school. The exact nature of the "concern" is not known.

The lockdown was subsequently lifted after the investigation, and students returned to classrooms.

The East Brunswick campus of the MCVTS is located in Rues Lane.
