A truck carrying deli meat collided with a truck carrying bread on a New Jersey highway, spewing the sandwich contents all over I-287, police said.

The truck crash happened on I-287 southbound in Piscataway shortly before 6 a.m. on Friday, causing backups that stretched several exits, police said.

One of the drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries, sustaining broken bones.
"Now, it's not lost on us that bread and lunch meat collided on the highway," the State Police said on its Facebook page. "We don't know what the odds are of this happening, but the only thing that could have made this stranger is an additional truck hauling mustard and pickles."

NBC 4 New York footage shows first responders cleaning up spilled bread and meats. The trailer portion of one of the trucks appeared to be destroyed, with its contents are spewed about the roadway, according to the station.
Most of the cleanup had been completed within an hour.
