WATCH: Just Pups Puppy Store Owner Defends Himself in Video

East Brunswick, NJ - Vincent LoSacco, the owner of East Brunswick pet store Just Pups, has released a video on his store's website defending himself against the 269 animal cruelty charges levied against him by the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals on Feb. 29. The charges range from denying puppies fresh water to mixing unhealthy dogs with healthy dogs, thus spreading diseases such as giardia.

Meanwhile, 906 people have signed a Change.org petition asking East Brunswick Mayor Kevin McEvoy and the Township Council to revoke Just Pups' license.

There will be a public hearing on Just Pups Monday evening, March 28, where the East Brunswick Council will decide whether or not to renew Just Pups' license in light of the NJSPCA charges. The hearing will be at 8 p.m. and there will be time for the public to speak. The hearing will be in the courtroom of the Municipal Building, One Civic Center Drive, East Brunswick.

The hearing was originally scheduled for March 7, but LoSacco's attorney requested to postpone it so he could have more time to prepare a defense. The animal cruelty charges filed against LoSacco carry fines in the neighborhood of $100,000.
