A NJTransit train rolled from New York to Trenton Tuesday for roughly eight stops, or about a 30-minute ride, with an open door that was wide enough to be a potential problem, video obtained by NBC 4 New York shows.

NJTransit said it's investigation, saying a train shouldn't move if it has a door open.

Jeffrey Spitery, a rider, provided video to NBC4 of the Northeast Corridor train before it was stopped at Newark for 5 to 10 minutes while a conductor searched for the open door on the left side of the train.

Eventually, the train pulled out and continued on its way, according to the report.

Spitery told NBC4 that he walked up toward a vestibule as his train approached his stop in Metuchen and noticed a door wide open with people standing next to it. Passengers are seen moving about the vestibule, the wind generated from the moving train.
