Turkeys Try to Break Into East Brunswick Home

"It was (a) bit scary," admitted the East Brunswick resident.

East Brunswick, NJ - East Brunswick resident Judah Shechter said he was in his home, running on his treadmill when —

“I heard a very loud banging noise,” he told various media outlets. He went to check it out, and found several large wild turkeys trying to peck their way through his sliding glass door. The turkeys were trying to get inside his living room, he said.

“I chased them away but it was (a) bit scary,” he admitted.

This is hardly the first turkey attack in the wild Garden State. Just last Thursday, Feb. 18, a terrified U.S. postal worker in Hillsdale called 911 after turkeys “attacked” his mail truck and prevented him from delivering the mail. Listen to his 911 call here.

And a gang of turkeys regularly attack a mailman on Cape Cod, reports the Falmouth Patch, to the point where he now has to carry a prodder to fend them off.
