Woman Dozes Off, Drives Into State Police Car In Sayreville
A woman dozed off and rear-ended a State Police trooper vehicle on Rt. 35 south at Rt. 9 in Sayreville, near Costa Verde Monday morning.

SAYREVILLE, NJ — A woman fell asleep at the wheel and rear-ended a State Police trooper vehicle Monday morning in Sayreville, police reported.
The accident happened just before 10 a.m. Monday on Rt. 35 south at Rt. 9 South in Sayreville, right near Costa Verde restaurant, and caused heavy delays in the area.
The woman told State Police she dozed off while driving home from a 12-hour overnight shift, according to NJ.com. She accidentally drove into the State Police car, which was parked in that area on a construction detail.

The state trooper was taken to a local hospital with back pain. The woman was not issued any criminal charges; it is unknown if she was ticketed.
