YMCA Hosts Welcoming Week
During Welcoming Week (Sept 9-18) stop by the Y for a free membership trial!
The Raritan Valley YMCA is recognizing the diversity of our community through its programs and membership efforts. This summer the YMCA offered weekly humanities programs that taught children to understand the arts, history and culture of various countries and ethnic groups. The program, funded by the NJ Humanities Council, enriched the knowledge of children and Y staff as local presenters brought dance, song, art, traditions, food, and fascinating video to youngsters and adults.
This week the Y host a nationwide YMCA event, Welcoming Week. This campaign is an opportunity for neighbors — both immigrants and U.S.-born residents — to get to know one another and celebrate what unites us as a community. The Y hallways are decorated to recognize and celebrate our diversity and a membership special is in place to welcome new members to the Y We welcome all to the YMCA!
During Welcoming Week (Sept 9-18), the Raritan Valley YMCA will offer all residents with a free 1 week pass to use the Y at 144 Tices Lane in East Brunswick. Stop by for a tour and view are children's humanities arts. For further information call 732-257-4114.
