MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A Morris County fire chief is facing heat after a board of fire commissioners suspended him without pay, according to reports.
Whippany Fire Chief Paul Perrello has been suspended without pay as an investigation unfolds, according to TAPinto Hanover Township.
The Hanover Township Fire District No. 2 Board of Fire Commissioners cited conduct unbecoming of a public employee, insubordination, harassment, neglect of duty, failure to perform duties, and inability to perform duties as reasons for the suspension, according to the report.
The report adds that Perrello could face disciplinary action up to and including termination, and is currently barred from entering Fire District property, responding to fire calls, accessing district systems and communicating with Fire District personnel.
