East Hanover Library Card Unlocks More Than Books

EAST HANOVER, NJ — A library card can do more than keep a nightstand stocked, and East Hanover residents have a reason to find out.

Library Card Sign-Up Month begins Tuesday at the East Hanover Public Library, 415 Ridgedale Ave. Beyond books, a card opens access to e-books, movies, newspapers, genealogy tools and language-learning resources.

Adults can borrow unexpected finds from the library's "Library of Things," including a telescope, metal detector, DSLR camera, pickleball kit, projector and electronic drum set.

Cardholders may reserve passes for attractions including the Morris Museum, Guggenheim Museum, Intrepid Museum and Jenkinson's Aquarium.

Residents new to the MAIN library system can begin registration online, then visit the library with proof of residency to complete the process. In other words, one card can carry plenty of possibilities.
