Florham Park, NJ — September 28, 2026
Cheshire Home, a Specialized Care Nursing Facility (SCNF) serving adults with spinal cord injuries and neurological impairments, has been recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a 2026 Top Nursing Facility in New Jersey and has earned an overall five-star rating.
The CMS Five-Star Quality Rating System evaluates nursing homes based on health inspections, staffing and quality measures, with five stars representing the highest overall rating.
For Cheshire Home, the recognition comes during its 45th anniversary year and reflects a longstanding commitment to specialized care, rehabilitation and independence.
"Cheshire Home has always been about seeing the person, not the disability," said George Zeitler, Executive Director of Cheshire Home. "Our goal is to provide exceptional care while giving our residents the support, resources and opportunities they need to pursue their own goals and greater independence."
Cheshire Home's residents are adults living with spinal cord injuries and neurological impairments. Its specialized model combines nursing care, rehabilitation, adaptive technology and opportunities for community participation, with services centered around each resident's individual abilities, choices and goals.
"This five-star rating is an achievement we are very proud of, but what matters most is what it represents—the commitment our staff demonstrates every day and the opportunities we help create for our residents," Zeitler added.
As Cheshire Home celebrates 45 years of service, the recognition reinforces its commitment to providing high-quality specialized care while helping residents pursue meaningful, independent lives.
