Apple Picking Near East Hanover: 3 Orchards To Visit

EAST HANOVER, NJ — Looking to fill a bag with fresh-picked apples this fall? These three Morris County farms have apple picking underway.

At Wightman Farms, apple picking is available as part of the farm's Fall Festival experience. Visitors need a Fall Festival ticket before heading into the orchard, while the apples they pick are purchased separately.

The farm's Pick Your Own page currently lists several apple varieties available for picking. Wightman Farms recommends checking its website for current availability before visiting because picking conditions can change.

Riamede Farm in Chester opened its 2026 apple-picking season Aug. 22. During September and October, the farm is open Wednesday through Monday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the last entry to the orchard at 4 p.m. and orchard gates closing at 5 p.m.

Apple varieties vary throughout the season, and Riamede Farm maintains a current picking schedule for visitors to check before heading out. The farm notes that crop availability is subject to change and recommends reviewing the schedule for the most up-to-date picking information.

Also in Chester, Alstede Farms offers apple picking through its Pick Your Own experience. The farm says varieties change as different apples ripen throughout the season.

Alstede Farms also advises visitors that availability can vary based on weather, growing conditions and harvest schedules. Visitors can check the farm's current Pick Your Own calendar before making the trip.
