Whippany Park High School Recognizes Good Character

Juniors Noel Nunnermacker and Nick Medway named Character Counts Award recipients at Whippany Park High School.

Many students at Whippany Park High School demonstrate the six pillars of good character. They are role models who exert a positive influence on the school community and demonstrate their compassion through their involvement in a variety of activities. Juniors Noel Nunnermacker and Nick Medway are two such role models who have been recognized as Character Counts Award recipients for the fourth marking period.

Noel Nunnermacker is spirited student who has the unique ability to make anybody laugh.  She has been a dedicated clarinet player in the band since her freshman year and will be serving as clarinet section leader next fall. According to her teachers, she demonstrates leadership skills in the classroom when she works with students of all grade levels and abilities, showing true respect for the thoughts and opinions of her peers.  Well-known for having an outgoing personality that invites other students to connect with her, she has a positive attitude that allows her to be able to find the humor in any situation. Noel is a student with genuine enthusiasm and outstanding character whose presence is felt whenever she is engaged in an educational activity or social situation.

Nick Medway is a standout in Whippany Park’s track program. He is described as being determined and confident both in the classroom and on the track, always willing to help a friend in need and always there to support his teammates. A perfect example of what a student athlete should be, he participates and is proactive with his work in the classroom, while on the track, he is a leader others can look up to. A versatile athlete, he has a great work ethic, a positive attitude, and the focus needed to continually improve.  These qualities are what led to Nick being a First Team All Conference athlete, a two time place winner in Morris County, and a Group 1 State qualifier in four events.
