Cemetery Worker Gets Trapped In Grave In East Hanover
The grave digger was pinned inside the grave by a 800-pound vault cover.

EAST HANOVER, NJ — A Flemington man became trapped in the grave he was digging after an 800-pound vault cover fell on him, East Hanover police said.
Peter Ferencze, 59, was working at the Hanover Cemetery Tuesday morning when the fault cover pinned his legs against the grave he was digging. A coworker, who was on his first day at the job, along with police and firefighters, shoveled dirt off the vault cover and then used straps to lift the cover off Ferencze, freeing him.
Ferencze was taken to the hospital by ambulance with chest injuries, police said. The coworker was also taken for an evaluation.
