Clean Up Project Gets Lots of Scout Support

Project makes a clean sweep of Brooklake Road

On a chilly Saturday morning, boy scouts, girl scouts and concerned citizens joined Public Works employees, police and fire personnel joined the council president to clean up Brooklake Road.

"There is a lot of refuse on the sides of our streets," said council president Mark Taylor.  "I feel it is a real accomplishment for our borough people, our environmental commission, our DPW people, our police department all chip in to help to get this cleaned up and to do a project that is worthwhile for the entire community."

"This is really a feel good day," said the environmental commissions Laura Iandiorio.  "We have girl and boy scout troops and other community groups coming to help.  It is something everybody can do.  We have a lot of other cleanups doing environmental work with conservation and helping the lake, but this one is more of an everybody help project."
