Boys entering grades 1 through 5 in September are invited to join Florham Park Cub Scout Pack 2 for a free special event at the Briarwood Elementary School on Friday, May 16 at 7 p.m.
Attendees will enjoy free refreshments and a guest presentation from a "Mad Scientist," who will present an educational program about the importance of recycling and the impact of garbage on the planet's natural resources. Children will participate in a "Decomposition Game Show" and see a demonstration in which Styrofoam is melted. Families and siblings are welcome.
Cub Scouts is a volunteer-based, family oriented program designed to help boys learn about the importance of character development, good citizenship, fitness, and life skills. Activities include hikes, camping trips, and the annual Pinewood Derby race.
Registration forms will be available at the event, which will be held at 7 p.m. in the gym at the Briarwood Elementary School, located at 151 Briarwood Road in Florham Park.
