Morris County Woman Killed in Head-On Crash

One woman is dead after a Jeep slammed into a large truck Wednesday afternoon in Morris County.

The driver of the two-door black Jeep died after the vehicle crashed head-on into a Penske truck on Ridgedale Avenue in East Hanover, dailyrecord.com reported.

The crash occurred on the section of Ridgedale Avenue where the roadway runs parallel to Route 280, nj.com reported, near the Parsippany border.

The driver was identified as Laura Batte, 50, of East Hanover, nj.com reported. Batte’s Jeep crossed over the double yellow lines and into oncoming traffic, the report said. The driver was wearing her seatbelt and not using her cell phone at the time of the crash, the report said.
