Former First Aid Squad Member Had Sex With Minor, Showed Child Porn: Indictment

Colin Skeele was suspended last November after his arrest.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – A former member of Florham Park’s First Aid Squad has been indicted on charges of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and distributing child pornography.

A Grand Jury handed up the indictment in Sussex County alleging Colin Skeele, 29, engaged in sexual contact with a subordinate First Aid Squad member under the age of 18 and showed photographs of children engaged in sexual acts in the fall of 2015 while in Vernon Township, Sussex County.

At the time of the incident, Skeele was a member of the Glenwood Pochuck Ambulance Corps, according northjersey.com.

Skeele was arrested Oct. 9 in Vernon Township and lodged in jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to nj.com.

In November 2015, Skeele was suspended from his duties on the First Aid Squad by the New Jersey Department of Health, which stated, “As you are aware, EMT-Basics are placed in a position of trust by the general public. They must work in two-person teams to respond effectively to emergencies and must make important medical assessments and carry out appropriate medical interventions … In order to be effective, EMT-Basics must exercise good judgment, trust each other and be trusted by police officers, fire fighters, doctors and other professionals. In short, EMT-Basics must be law-abiding and trustworthy.”

Skeele’s arraignment will take place within the next six weeks, the indictment said. The Florham Park First Aid Squad is an all-volunteer organization and has been for its 65 year history.
