Mike Mastellano Named Whippany Park High Student of the Month

Whippany Park High School announced Wednesday that senior Mike Mastellone is its September 2013 Student of the Month.

According to a school district release, Mastellone earned the designation through his successes as an Eagle Scout, as an honors student who has landed numerous times on the school's Distinguished Honor Roll, as National Honor Society treasurer and for being chosen for the NJ Boys State Program.

Mastellone also shines in the music and drama departments. He is the drum captain for the WPHS Pride drum line, a member of the school's jazz and wind ensembles and lead singer of doo-wop group the Whiptones. He also had featured roles in the plays "The Diary of Anne Frank" and "In the Heights."
