Toddler Found Wandering In Parking Lot, Grandma Charged: Florham Park Police

Florham Park Police say the grandmother left the toddler in the car during her dentist appointment.

FLORHAM PARK, NJ— Florham Park Police arrested a grandmother after they found her four-year-old grandson walking around a parking lot alone, they said in a statement.

Dawn Todd, 56 from Irvington, was arrested on Feb. 4 after police say she left her sleeping grandson in a parked car during a dentist appointment. Todd took her two other grandchildren, aged 7 and 9, into the building with her.

Police were called to the parking lot when others reported a small boy wandering around alone. After speaking to the grandmother, they determined she had left the boy so as to not wake him from a nap.
