Officer David Janssen and Officer Shawn Weeks completed academy training and will now join the department's ranks, according to a statement posted on the East Windsor Police Department's Facebook page.
Weeks received the Academic Achievement Award, graduating with the highest academic average in his class after completing 13 exams totaling 1,085 questions, the department said.
Janssen received the Merit Award, an honor selected by his fellow classmates for the recruit who "displays those qualities of exceptional future professional performance in law enforcement," according to the department.
"We are proud of the hard work, discipline, and dedication they displayed throughout their academy training and are excited to welcome them to the East Windsor Police Department," the department said in its statement, adding it wishes both officers "long, safe, and successful careers serving our community."
