EAST WINDSOR, NJ — Tropical Smoothie Cafe recently held its grand opening in East Windsor Township's Town Center Plaza on Route 130 North.
Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members David Russell, Richard Eland, Joseph Miczak, Johnnie Whittington and John Zoller joined café owners Naimish Patel and Rahul Singh, along with family and staff, for the ribbon-cutting.
The café offers what the company describes as "better-for-you alternatives to fast food," including smoothies such as super veggie, tropical treats and fruit blends, along with acai bowls, Greek yogurt and chia oatmeal. The menu also includes all-day breakfast options, wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads, quesadillas and toasted snack rolls.
"East Windsor welcomes Tropical Smoothie Café, a fast-growing popular healthier food option to our robust Route 130 business corridor," Mironov said. "Their location in the prime Town Center Plaza, which is anchored by the super Shoprite and movie theater, will help promote their visibility and bring in patrons. We wish them much success in our community."
Tropical Smoothie Cafe began as a single smoothie shop on a beach in Destin, Florida, in 1993 and has grown into a nationwide fast-casual chain with more than 1,700 locations in all 50 states. The company opened 165 cafes in 2025 and has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing franchises by Entrepreneur and Nation's Restaurant News, according to the release.
The East Windsor location is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
