EAST WINDSOR, NJ — A new pizza spot blending traditional Indian flavors with American-style pies has opened along East Windsor's busy Route 130 corridor.
Tandoori Pizza recently opened in the Town Center, also known as the Burlington Center, on Route 130 South. Mayor Janice Mironov and Township Council members joined the restaurant's owners and staff for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the opening.
The restaurant specializes in Indian-fusion pizza, with menu options including tandoori chicken, butter chicken, chili paneer and spicy garden delight. It also serves traditional pizzas, salads, pasta and other side dishes.
For diners looking for something more familiar, the restaurant also offers classic pizzas with red tomato sauce, including cheese, original Margherita and vegetarian options. Side dishes, salads and pasta are also on the menu.
"The Township welcomes New Jersey's first Tandoori Pizza restaurant, which offers a novel approach to a popular basic food favorite for many of our residents," Mironov said in a statement. "We wish them much success, as they join other Township eateries and stores along the prominent robust Route 130 business corridor in East Windsor."
Tandoori Pizza was founded in Dublin, California, and began franchising in 2015. The company has since expanded to 29 locations across seven states, according to the township. The East Windsor restaurant is its first and only New Jersey location.
The East Windsor restaurant is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and can be reached at 609-690-2500.
