6th Annual Paws Walk Welcomes Beagle Brigade

The 2012 Paws Walk features a welcome new attraction: the Beagle Brigade will send several of its teams to participate.

US Customs and Border Protection’s Beagle Brigade protects America’s agriculture by sniffing baggage for prohibited, undeclared, fruits and meats at airports.

The 6thAnnual Paws Walk, organized by the Hightstown Animal Welfare Committee to raise funds for its rescue efforts in the community, will be held on May 19, rain or shine, at 10:30 a.m.

After a relaxing stroll through the borough’s historic district, participants can wind down in Hightstown’s Association Park where they can enjoy refreshments and browse the vendors in a pet expo. The Doggie Idol talent contest will be back and those too shy to compete can opt for the Puppy Playground or various arts and crafts.

It’s no surprise that this event grows every year, drawing people from Mercer, Middlesex and all surrounding counties. Paws Walk is open to everyone who likes to walk, and promises to be exciting for the whole community.
