An American flag that was flown over the World Trade Center on Sept. 22, 2011 was presented to East Windsor Township Mayor Janice Mironov by the Governor’s Office, according to a news release. The flag commemorated the tenth anniversary of Sept. 11.
A letter from Gov. Chris Christie to Mironov said:
“Please accept this gift as a token of our appreciation for the service you provide to our State and its residents, and as a reminder of a day we will never forget.” The letter continues, “Your leadership and dedication have been instrumental in helping New Jersey recover from one of the worst tragedies in our Nation’s history. I extend my sincere gratitude for your ongoing contributions toward building a brighter future for the Garden State and for ensuring we forever honor the lives lost on that day.”
