Rise, Americana and Comcast Delivered Thanksgiving Meals to Local Families

Americana Diner partnered with Rise: A Community Service Partnership and Comcast to deliver 600 hot Thanksgiving Meals to 200 families on Thanksgiving Day, according to a news release.

Danny Cummings, head executive chef at Americana, started cooking turkeys early in the morning, and 20 Comcast trucks delivered meals throughout Hightstown, East Windsor and Cranbury to qualified families.

"The efforts of our partners are unparalleled. The volunteers, the businesses and wonderful people of this community pull together to make Thanksgiving a true family celebration," said Leslie Koppel, executive director at Rise.

This holiday was made extra bountiful because Ron Longo, of Diversified Shelving, donated a ShopRite gift card to each family who received a hot meal, Koppel said.
