Cinco de Mayo Means Guacamole

Try this DIY guacamole recipe.

We’re passionate about not using prepared, frozen or canned food. Especially when teaching your family healthy eating habits and fun foods collide. It is just too easy to “DIY” for Cinco de Mayo.

Here is a delish and easy to prepare recipe for a healthy favorite, guacamole. 

Ingredients:

  • 2 Haas Avocados
  • 2-4 tablespoons minced onion
  • Cilantro, a large handful chopped [to taste]
  • 1 good small tomato, seeded and diced small, but no need to mince
  • The juice of ½ a Lemon
  • Pepper
  • Ground Red Pepper [Cayenne]
  • Garlic [minced or powdered] 

Do not use a blender. Either scoop out avocado, or deep score, making tiny squares and scoop out. Mix/mash all ingredients and refrigerate at least 1 hour. If you really have some time on your hands, serve with homemade Tortilla chips or baked pita triangles.
