Grocery Shopping While You Wait For The Train? You Bet!
Grocery Shopping While You Wait For The Train? You Bet!

Not many people enjoy grocery shopping. The long lines. The ancient shopping carts with rickety wheels that don’t spin. The cashier who moves at a snail’s pace. The shopper who pays by personal check. The other shopper who demands to see the manager so she can save a nickel on a can of tuna.
We may not enjoy trips to the grocery store, but we would still prefer to choose exactly what we want. Shopping for groceries online enables you to make this dream a reality.
The ability to shop for groceries online is really nothing new. It’s a major timesaver for on-the-go professionals and parents. But a new service from a company called Peapod has taken this convenience to a new level by essentially bringing its grocery store to train platforms.

At train stations in many parts of the country, including Philadelphia and southeastern Pennsylvania, Peapod has billboards filled with grocery products on the train platform. You scan the QR code in the ad to get the app, and scan barcodes with your smartphone while you wait for your train. You can also browse thousands of items on your phone.
Once you place your order, you can schedule a delivery to your home or schedule a time to pick up your groceries. Or, you can leave that part to us. After all, if you shop for groceries online to save time, do you really want to go pick up the groceries or sit at home for two hours while you wait for a delivery, and then spend a half hour putting away groceries?
