HEWYBL 12 U All Stars

HEWYBL 12U All Stars have advanced to the Cal Ripken state tournament to be held in Washington Twsp. beginning July 14. Check out the action!

The HEWYBL 12U Tournament Team beat the defending district champs, Northern Burlington, by a score of 6-5 and then went on to beat Hamilton 5-3 to advance to the Cal Ripken state tournament  to be held in Washington Twsp. beginning July 14.  In the opening game against Northern Burlington,  Alex Loporto went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s,  Stephen Brookwell was 2 for 3 with a walk and 1 RBI and pitched a strong 6 innings striking out 7.  Frankie Barzda added an RBI single, while Ryan DeMille blasted a 2 run homer over the center field fence.   

In the second win against Hamilton, Stephen Brookwell came out firing with a stellar pitching performance striking out 11, walking just 2, and giving up only 3 hits.  Ryan DeMille doubled in a run in  the first inning and Zac Serra picked up an RBI with a single in the 4th.  After singling to left in the 5th, Alex Loporto stole second, moved to 3rd on a grounder and scored on a passed ball to tie it back up.   Hunter Jackman-Hulick then sealed the win crushing a 2 run homer over the left field fence.
