The Clare Estate in Bordentown Hosts Memory Cafe Promoting Companionship Among Those with Dementia and Their Caregivers
Free Event to be Held on Sunday, July 12th at 12:00 noon.

The Clare Estate, an assisted living and memory care community, will host a Memory/Alzheimer’s Café for local residents with dementia and their loved ones on Sunday, July 12 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
The event offers an opportunity for people with dementia, including Alzheimer’s, to socialize and relax with their caregivers and meet others who share similar circumstances. The setting is similar to going to a coffee shop with a loved one for an afternoon treat. Guests can share conversation over a cup of coffee in a relaxed atmosphere, listen to music, and enjoy the opportunity to make new friendships with others who know the challenges they’re facing firsthand.
The concept of the Memory Café offers participants a respite from the illness in an engaging and supportive setting – it is not a support group or adult day care. Getting together regularly with a group of friends can not only unite people facing similar challenges and reduce isolation, but also bring joy and a sense of normalcy to an existence that all too often becomes focused on disease and disability.
