East Windsor Accepting Nominations For Senior Citizen Awards
The award aims to recognize a senior citizen who has made contributions to the community through volunteer work.
EAST WINDSOR, NJ - East Windsor Township is accepting nominations for the annual “Sylvia Weiss Senior Citizen Award for Outstanding Service as a Volunteer”.
The award is named after Sylvia Weiss, a former East Windsor Township Council Member, past Council senior citizen advisor and chairperson of the Commission on Aging, who was instrumental in the original formation of the senior citizen program.
The award aims to recognize a senior citizen who has exhibited outstanding service through volunteerism to the community through work with schools, religious institutions, service organizations or directly to the public.

Mayor Janice Mironov said the award a wonderful vehicle to recognize an outstanding senior in the community and to honor Weiss.
The presentation will be made by the Township at a ceremony in May as part of Older Americans Month.

Nominees must be at least 60 years of age and residents of East Windsor. They should be persons who are outstanding volunteers in community service. Such service may be on behalf of senior citizens, the schools, churches, service organizations and/or the general public. This service may be in leadership or in direct service.
Individuals and organizations are encouraged to support a senior citizen for this honor.
The deadline to submit a nomination is April 24.
