East Windsor Announces Summer Lineup For Etra Lake Park

It begins with the township's Independence Day event and continues with free events throughout the summer.

EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — East Windsor’s Independence Day celebration will kick off a summer of free events at Etra Lake Park.

Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings, Dixieland Jazz Band and the Trenton Quintet Plus One Band will perform at East Windsor’s Independence Day celebration, which will be capped by a fireworks display. Read more here: East Windsor’s 4th of July Fireworks: 2019 Guide, Scheduled Time

The summer program of free events at Etra Lake Park will continue on Sunday, July 28, 6 p.m., with “Danny V’s 52nd Street Band,” a full-scale, six piece live concert show recreating the performances of Billy Joel. Danny V’s 52nd Street Band offers the best of Billy Joel, covering his entire career from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. As the longest running tribute to Billy Joel, they perform his greatest hits, including “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” “Uptown Girl,” “Only the Good Die Young,” “Piano Man” and many more.

On Sunday, Aug. 11 at 6 p.m., The Mahoney Brothers will perform “Long Live the Beatles,” the longest running Beatles tribute show in the country. This all live musical event will create an evening of nostalgic entertainment, recreating the sights and sounds of the Beatles from 1962 to 1970. All time song favorites highlighting the show will include “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “All My Loving,” “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,” “Hey Jude” and “Let it Be.”

On Sunday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m., “Endless Summer” will perform. "Endless Summer" is known as “The East Coast Ultimate Beach Boys Tribute Band,” capturing the essence of the 60’s California Beach scene all year round with favorite hits such as “Surfer Girl,” “Little Deuce Coupe,” “Good Vibrations,” “Sloop John B,” “Kokomo” and “California Girls.”

On Saturday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. “Family Night in the Park” will feature a large-screen viewing of the movie “Ralph Breaks the Internet” under the stars. “Ralph Breaks the Internet” is a 2018 American 3D computer-animated film. It stars video game bad guy Ralph and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz who must risk it all by travelling to the World Wide Web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, “Sugar Rush.” The evening will begin at 7 P.M. with free inflatable rides, games, and vendors prior to the movie starting at dusk. The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 25.
