East Windsor District Names New Principal For Hightstown High School
Jonathan Dauber, principal of Thomas R. Grover Middle School, takes over July 1 after the district dropped its previous pick amid a lawsuit.

EAST WINDSOR — Six months after rescinding a principal appointment amid a discrimination lawsuit, the East Windsor Regional School District has named a replacement to lead Hightstown High School.
The Board of Education on March 23 approved the appointment of Dr. Jonathan Dauber as the school's next principal. He is set to begin the role July 1.
Dauber currently serves as principal of Thomas R. Grover Middle School. He has previously led High School North in the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District, as well as Lawrence High School and Lawrence Intermediate School in the Lawrence Township Public School District.

The appointment closes a months-long leadership search that was reopened last fall after the district rescinded an offer to Daniel Finkle, then-principal of Cherry Hill High School East.
The board voted in late September 2025 to pull the offer after Finkle was named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by a former assistant vice principal at Cherry Hill High School East, who alleged he was retaliated against after raising concerns about discriminatory comments from school administrators.

Following that vote, Superintendent Mark Daniels said the district would reopen its search and that current principal Mr. Vinson had agreed to extend his tenure to ensure continuity of leadership in the interim.
No additional details about Dauber's appointment were provided by the district.
