EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — Hightstown High School graduate Siddhi Shah was one of three recipients statewide to receive the “Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders” $1,000 Scholarship, East Windsor Township officials said Wednesday morning. The award, presented by the New Jersey League of Municipalities, was given to Shah by Mayor Janice S. Mironov at the July 25 council meeting.
The competition centers on the theme "What My Municipal Government Does Best" and seeks to advance the virtues of elected and volunteer members of the community, while raising awareness of municipal government in general. Shah, of East Windsor, will be attending Rutgers University.
“The League-sponsored Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition provides a unique opportunity for area high school students to demonstrate an interest in their local elected officials and municipal operations,” Mironov said. “We are very proud of Siddhi for her excellent efforts in achieving this statewide recognition, and her thoughtful observations about our local government.
