Lightning Sparks House Fire In East Windsor, Home Uninhabitable, Police Say

No injuries reported as multiple fire departments responded to the Debbie Lane blaze.

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — A house fire believed to have been caused by a lightning strike left an East Windsor residence uninhabitable Monday, though no injuries were reported, according to police.

East Windsor Township police responded to a reported structure fire at 3 Debbie Lane around 11:30 a.m. Monday. Officers arrived to find the home partially engulfed in flames, and all occupants were safely evacuated before fire crews extinguished the blaze.

The home sustained significant fire and water damage and was deemed uninhabitable, police said. No injuries were reported among residents, officers, or fire personnel.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a lightning strike and is not considered suspicious, according to police.

The displaced residents have made temporary arrangements to stay at another location.

Multiple fire departments responded to assist, including East Windsor Volunteer Fire Station 42, Hightstown Engine Company No. 1 Ladder 41, Robbinsville Township Fire Department Station 40, and Plainsboro Township Fire Company 49. Capital Health EMS & Paramedics also responded.
