Man Arrested, $4,600 In Drugs Seized In Mercer County: Prosecutor

One man was arrested, and steroids and cash were seized following a two-week investigation by the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri and Hamilton Township Chief of Police James W. Collins said on Thursday.
Andrew M. Jiras, 25, of Hamilton Township, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jiras was stopped by task force officers while driving his 2017 Mercedes Benz at about 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. He was arrested without incident. Police subsequently executed search warrants at his home on Burtis Avenue in Hamilton.

Police say they seized 28 small glass vials containing a liquid form of anabolic steroids, 83 assorted steroid pills, $1,576 in cash, a digital scale, syringes and hundreds of small plastic baggies used for drug distribution. Police put the approximate street value of the seized drugs at $4,600.
Officers with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, the Hamilton and Trenton police departments, and the U.S. Marshals Service assisted with the investigation.
