March of Dimes Presents Award to Percis Bansal

The New Jersey March of Dimes Board of Directors presented Percis Bansal with an award for her support of the March of Dimes.

The March of Dimes recently recognized Percis Bansal of Monroe, NJ for her work with the nationally recognized March of Dimes youth group Mercer County Chain Reaction Youth Council and their contributions to the March of Dimes. Through her leadership, dedication, support and the generosity of the Indian community in New Jersey, she has helped raise more than $500,000 to support the March of Dimes mission to give every baby a healthy start. Since she started working with the March of Dimes in 2001, she has played a significant role in Rangeela, a multi-cultural evening of food, music and dancing presented by the Mercer County Chain Reaction Youth Council and their adult mentors, by recruiting parents, students, community leaders and artists to join together and be part of the event.

Percis’ sons have also been involved with the March of Dimes. Rahul was an original founder of Rangeela at West Windsor Plainsboro High School North. He also started the Chain Reaction Youth Council in Middlesex County and went on to become the National Chair. Rohit started the Mr. South event at West Windsor Plainsboro High School South, a male beauty pageant which donates the proceeds to the March of Dimes.

This year, Rangeela will be held on October 18, 2014 at West Windsor Plainsboro High School North will feature dances by prominent local choreographers and a featured performance by award winning Bollywood Playback Singer Samir Date, accompanied by Dipalee Somaiya. There will also be a special appearance and performance by Articulate Ability, an ensemble of visually challenged dancers. The enchanting musical evening will be followed by a gourmet Indian dinner from The Pind (Palace of Asia). The show will begin at 4 pm, and ticket prices vary from $100 (VIP) to $20 (student).
