Mercer Co. To Close Windsor Road For Bridge Replacement Starting July 20
The 1931 Robbinsville bridge over the Assunpink Creek tributary will be replaced over 150 days, with a detour in place.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Mercer County will begin work on the replacement of the Windsor Road Bridge in Robbinsville Township, which crosses a tributary of the Assunpink Creek, with construction set to start around July 20, the County Department of Engineering announced.
The bridge, officially known as Bridge #942.6 (State Structure No. 11J4206), is located on Windsor Road midway between the intersection with N.J. Route 130 and the overpass over the New Jersey Turnpike. The project is expected to be substantially completed within 150 days, weather permitting.
During construction, Windsor Road will be closed to traffic, with a detour route via N.J. State Highway Route 130 and Perrineville Road, coordinated with the Robbinsville Township Police Department.

The existing bridge, built in 1931, is a single-span brick jack arch structure with reinforced concrete wingwalls at all four corners. The new structure will consist of two 12-foot travel lanes, two 4-foot shoulders, and a 6-foot sidewalk along the north side of the bridge.
"Small bridges like the one on Windsor Rd. don't attract a lot of attention, but they're critical to the interconnected communities and easy travel that we all take for granted," said County Executive Dan Benson. He said Mercer County closely monitors all of its bridges, large and small, and plans years in advance so that aging structures are replaced before they begin to fail.
