Mercer County Courthouse Shut Down Temporarily After White Powdery Substance Discovered: Report

The courthouse was shut down for over an hour while the incident was investigated.

The Mercer County Courthouse was closed for more than an hour Monday afternoon after someone found a letter containing a white powdery substance that turned out to be Sweet’N’Low, the Trentonian reports.

Those who discovered the letter initially believed the powder could be Anthrax and reported it to law enforcement, according to the report.

Anyone who may have been exposed to the letter was quarantined, but didn’t show any signs of exposure necessitating hospitalization.
