Mercer County Town Gets Electric Vehicle Charging Grant

Hamilton Township will use the grant to purchase, install, and maintain a level 2 dual-port charging station in Veteran's Park South.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Very soon Hamilton Township will have an electric vehicle charging station at Veteran’s Park. The Township recently received an $8,000 grant from the state’s Pay$ to Plug program.

Hamilton will use the grant to purchase, install, and maintain a level 2 dual-port charging station in Veteran’s Park South. Veteran’s Park serves as a centralized point of the Township and was selected to allow people charging their cars to utilize the park’s amenities.

“I want to express gratitude to the NJDEP and our Legislators in their work to grow the State’s electric vehicle infrastructure,” Mayor Jeff Martin said in a statement.

“This is the first step to grow our electric vehicle infrastructure in Hamilton. I hope that residents will find this charging station in Veteran’s Park to be a nice convenience as they are enjoying spending time in the park.”

The Township hopes to have the charging station installed at Veterans Park and ready for use later this year.
