Mercer Juveniles Charged After Police Find 3 Semi-Automatic Handguns During Call

Officers found two juveniles armed with semi-automatic handguns and recovered a third weapon on scene, police said.

TRENTON, NJ — Two juveniles were taken into custody after Trenton police officers responding to a report of a disorderly group found two of them in possession of handguns, authorities said Friday

Patrol Officers were dispatched to 121 South Cook Ave. at approximately 5:05 p.m. on Wednesday.

On arrival, officers encountered a group of minors and, during their investigation, discovered two were carrying handguns. A third weapon was recovered on scene when the juveniles were taken into custody without incident.

The weapons were identified as a semi-automatic 9mm Taurus, a semi-automatic 9mm SSCY and a semi-automatic .45 caliber Taurus.

The juveniles were taken to Trenton Police Headquarters and processed on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm.
