Motor Vehicle Accident, DUI: East Windsor Police Blotter
An East Windsor man was charged with DUI after his vehicle left the road and hit a tree, police said.
EAST WINDSOR, NJ – The East Windsor Police Blotter dated Thursday, April 13, contained the following reports:
On April 8 at 1:58 a.m., an officer responded to the area of Abbington Drive near Twin Rivers Drive for a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident. Investigation revealed that the vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, a 41-year-old East Windsor resident, exhibited signs of impairment and was placed under arrest. He was later released pending court action. The driver was charged with DUI, careless driving, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane.
On April 8, at 4:59 p.m. an officer responded to Avon Drive West near the Quad 3 pool for a report of a person sleeping behind the wheel of a parked vehicle. The officer arrived and found the driver sleeping behind the wheel with the ignition running and an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. The driver, a 27-year-old East Windsor resident exhibited signs of impairment and was placed under arrest. The driver was later released pending court action.
