Ribbon Cutting Marks Sprouts Farmers Market Opening In East Windsor

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — Mayor Janice S. Mironov and council members celebrated the grand opening of Sprouts Farmers Market in East Windsor with a ribbon cutting Sept. 4.

Mironov and council members David Russell, Richard Eland, Joseph Miczak and John Zoller joined store management and staff for the event at the East Windsor Village shopping center, located at Princeton Hightstown Road and One Mile Road.

Sprouts Farmers Market, which opened its first store in 2002, is one of the largest and fastest-growing specialty retailers of fresh, natural and organic food in the United States, the township said.

The store offers fresh meat and seafood, a full-service deli, dairy, baked goods, and natural and organic products, along with gluten-free, plant-based, grass-fed and non-GMO items. It also carries pre-prepared foods including wellness bowls and a bulk department with coffee beans, rice, nuts, dried fruits, granolas, spices and sweets, as well as its own branded product line, according to the township.

"We are excited to welcome Sprouts Farmers Market to this prime successful shopping center location in East Windsor," Mironov said in a statement. "Sprouts, as one of the largest and fastest growing specialty supermarket retailers in the United States of fresh, natural and organic food, will offer a great convenient food option to our residents and region. Sprouts will add local jobs and be a valuable addition to our robust Township retail base."

The Phoenix, Arizona-based chain employs 35,000 workers and operates more than 480 stores in 25 states, including five in New Jersey, according to the township. The East Windsor store is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
